Matthew
As the car is a post 2017 model it falls into the tax plus “luxury tax” regime I’m paying my final year this year of the “over £40k additional luxury tax”. Looking back at my statements there has been a pretty big increase over the past 5 years (our F45 is till at £30!) 2018 - £450 2019 - £465 2020 - £475 2021 - £490 2022 - £520 But next year it’ll be down to £165 (or to whatever the chancellor increases it to). I’ve paid my due for having the privilege of an expensive car at first registration 😁. Edited October 26, 2022 by Matthew
Mr H
Pity they haven't increased the £40k threshold in line with the increase in annual charges; sticking at £40k means some pretty mediocre models (but luxury brands such as Audi or BMW) now fall into this blatant anti-motorist, anti-rich b'stard trap!
